Around Dinkelsbühl

Dinkelsbühl has been hailed by FOCUS.DE as one of the "most beautiful old towns in Germany"—and rightly so! This charming district town with almost 12,000 inhabitants in the Ansbach district of Middle Franconia, Bavaria, is picturesquely situated on the famous Romantic Road.

Kinderzeche

The "Kinderzeche" is Dinkelsbühl's famous local festival, featuring a historical parade, music, and a great atmosphere. It commemorates the rescue of the town by children during the Thirty Years' War and is celebrated in the heart of the old town.

The Wirtshaus & Hotel Sonne is right in the middle of it all: Look forward to our large beer garden at the Weinmarkt, freshly tapped Augustiner beer on tap, live music, and a special festival menu.

Christmas market

One of the most charming Christmas markets along the Romantic Road shines brightly every year in Dinkelsbühl: Under the motto "Come, little children," the idyllic Spitalhof invites you to an atmospheric family experience. Between festively lit stalls, fragrant delicacies, and lovingly designed Christmas decorations, you can enjoy the Advent season to the fullest – almost as if the sun were shining through the wintry atmosphere at every moment.

Just a few kilometers from Dinkelsbühl, the region transforms into a festival paradise every year: The Summer Breeze Open Air, one of Germany's two largest metal festivals, attracts fans from all over the world. Here, you can expect energetic heavy metal concerts, a lively festival atmosphere, and sunny days full of music and community. Whether with friends or as a short break in between – Summer Breeze combines powerful live acts with summery lightness amidst the picturesque Franconian landscape.
